This privacy policy describes how and why Volunteers Foundation (VF) obtains, stores and processes data which can identify you; how you can instruct us if you would prefer to limit the use and disclosure of that information and the procedures we have in place to safeguard your privacy. We may update this policy from time to time and shall indicate on the web site when changes have been made.

The Data Protection Act is based on the right of the individual (the Data Subject) to know what information is being held about them, and how the information will be used. The Act sets out principles to ensure that personal data is:

VF holds personal information on volunteers and supporters. VF is committed to safeguarding your privacy, while providing a high quality of service. Volunteers Foundation will treat your personal information as confidential and your details will not be given or sold to anyone.


What personal information we collect and how we use it
If you support us, for example make a donation, volunteer, register to fundraise,  sign up for an event, we will usually collect:

  • Your name

  • Your contact details

  • Your email 

Where it is appropriate we may also ask for information relating to your health (for example if you are taking part in a high risk event). 

We will mainly use your data to:

  • Provide you with the services, products or information you asked for

  • Administer your donation or support your fundraising, including processing gift aid

  • Keep a record of your relationship with us

  • Ensure we know how you prefer to be contacted

  • Understand how we can improve our services, products or information.


Use of Your Email Address

If you provide us with your email address when you register, at any of our fund-raising events or else, we will occasionally send you email with our newsletters, recommendations or notices of events.


Who We Share It With

Volunteers Foundation will not give, sell, rent, or lease your personally identifiable information to others.


The Volunteers Foundation web site contains links to other web sites. Please note that when you click on one of these links, you are ‘clicking’ to another Web site. We encourage you to read the privacy statements of these linked sites, as their privacy policies may differ from ours.


We collect user feedback. We do not typically respond to user feedback in the form of email. We do collect testimonials that appear on the site from our feedback forms, but only after we have obtained permission from the senders.

Correct/Update/Delete User Information

Users can update, correct, or delete their personal information held by Volunteers Foundation by contacting us.

All information gathered on the Volunteers Foundation site is stored and maintained in secure facilities that limit access to authorized personnel only. All Volunteer Foundation’s volunteers are briefed about the charity’s privacy and security policies on a regular basis.

Notification of Changes

If we change our privacy policy, we will post a notice on our site so our users are aware of the change in what information we collect, how we use it, and/or under what circumstances, if any, we disclose it. If at any point we decide to use personally identifiable information in a manner different from that stated at the time it was collected, we will notify users by email. Users will have a choice as to whether or not we use their previously submitted information in this different manner. Users may choose to have their information used in accordance with the privacy policy under which the information was collected.
