Goodbye Eve

It is with immense sadness that we have to announce the departure of our friend, volunteer and supporter, Eve Wetzel and her husband Jorg.

Eve only recently joined Volunteers Foundation but her dedication, passion and generosity immediately made her stand out as a key member of the team and an inspiration to all of us.

We had the privilege of spending some time together during latest volunteers trip to Kenya in October last year, where she had the chance to meet our members of staff and the children we support. She quickly earned everybody’s love and admiration for her calm, kind, and generous response to any problem.

What impressed us was her ability to quickly immerse herself in the situations, which may be challenging at times, and feel at ease with any issue or person she has to deal with.

She has brought to us a lot of experience and we have learnt so much from her. Her contribution has made Volunteers Foundation stronger and prepared it for the challenges that the future will bring.

We are so grateful to Eve for everything she has done as supporter of our cause donating unreservedly one of a person’s most valuable asset, her time.

Remembering the very first time we met, at Frankfurt Airport on our way to Kenya last year, was like seeing someone you have known for many years and with whom you’ve shared part of your life journey. And after that day, we quickly realised how many things we had in common, how many values, feeling, point of views we shared.

So, today we not only lose a wonderful and generous volunteer, but we also lose a true friend.

You will be greatly missed but never forgotten as you have left an indelible mark on our hearts.

Goodbye, Eve

Monica, Andrea and the VF team
